Amazingly Accurate and Easy to Use, February 29, 2012 By Robert G. Barnwell "Robert G. Barnwell" (New York City) - See all my reviews This review is from: Zaon PCAS MRX-A Portable Collision Avoidance (Electronics) As a student pilot flying in and around the New York City class B airspace, I'm naturally concerned about airspace congestion and the possibility of inflight and taxi-way collisions. I received my PCAS MRX less than a week ago and took it on its first flight within 48-hours or so of receipt. Incredible!! While holding short of the runway, the MRX identified two incoming aircraft well before they were within visual. Similarly, the MRX identified a number of airborne threats during the short cross-country... again, a few of which were identified before I had visual (of those I had visual of before the MRX identified the threat, the other aircraft were well beyond the 5-mile parameter setting of the MRX. No threats penetrated the MRX's stated 5 mile scan parameter without being detected.) Based on my initial experience with the MRX, I can't imagine flying the New York City airspace (or the Northeast corridor for that matter) without having the MRX or one of PCAS' future versions... Could save your life someday!, June 27, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Zaon PCAS MRX-A Portable Collision Avoidance (Electronics) I recently used it during an EAA Young Eagles flight day and explained to the kids that it was telling us which airplane was closest to us. It worked flawlessly - with many airplanes in the air and all around us it was nice to know which was closest. I made it a game for my young passengers to figure out which airplane it was telling us about!
