I followed the instructions and registered it on findmespot.com. This was a relatively easy process. I elected for the basic package to send "I am okay" messages $99, Product Replacement $17.99 and the GEOS Member Rescue Benefit $12.95 or a total of $130.93 for the year. I only needed 2 buttons, one for ON/OFF and the other for OK. One challenge with the buttons is that when pressing them, you can't see the flashing light to know that it is on or in Message mode. Even in low light, it is difficult to see the ON, OK, GPS or Message lights. I had to cup my hand over them to see that they were flashing. As most reviewers point out, it is impossible to know whether the message has been successfully sent. The pouch it comes with is not practical. So I used it as a handheld device. I did think about using cable ties to attach it to the top of my hat, but never tried that. Instead of accessories for attaching to a belt, perhaps the SPOT could be supplied with a... Read more
