Good mount, does what it is suppose to., August 30, 2009 Amazon Verified Purchase This mount uses the front passenger seat bolts to hold a plate to the floor and then a rod comes up from the left side of the passenger floor board and attaches to the swing arm, which a tray attaches to that, and you put your laptop on the tray.
IMPORTANT: There is another version of this mount that is "centered" in the vehicle. This version (vb-117-sw1) is not the center mounted version. If you have a front passenger often, you may wish to invest in the higher cost version which places the mount into the center more.
This version (passenger side floor mount) is not uncomfortable for the front seat passenger but is right beside their left leg. A large front seat passenger may find it not optimal. I would not want to go on a long trip with it beside my left leg unless you perhaps were to add a small amount of after-market padding onto it (not hard to do mind you).
